PLAYING ROUGH
IN THE SANDBOX
The Extreme E all-electric racers launched season two with the Desert X Prix. The off-road beasts enjoyed playing in nature’s sandbox so much last season, they returned to Saudi Arabia and the world’s largest continuous sand desert.
This time, NEOM, Saudi Arabia, and its punishing terrain provided the ultimate test for drivers and machines. Despite the fierce elements and fiercer competition, the No. 99 GMC HUMMER EV.R Chip Ganassi Racing—inspired by the GMC HUMMER EV—finished third in qualifying, securing a well-deserved spot in the final with a win in their semifinal. For the No. 99 drivers, Sara Price and Kyle LeDuc, the Desert X Prix final proved to be a brutal battle of conditions and competitors as they valiantly finished fourth.
Stay tuned for the next X Prix coming to yet another extreme environment somewhere around the globe.
