Bringing together veterans and inner-city youth, Soul River Inc. is an Oregon-based nonprofit that is building the next generation of ambassadors for the environment.

Soul River Founder and President Chad Brown, himself a decorated U.S. Navy veteran who served in multiple overseas conflicts, used the great outdoors and fly fishing to help find solace from post-traumatic stress disorder. It also inspired the formation of Soul River and its work to connect U.S. military veterans as mentors for young people by building rich educational experiences on public lands, rivers and fresh waters.
