To no one’s surprise, 2022 proved to be yet another super year for the revolutionary supertrucks. 

The GMC HUMMER EV revolution rolled into 2022 fully charged, fully electrifying and fully dominating. It revealed its secrets, inspired influencers and innovators, raced to extremes with 99 GMC HUMMER EV.R Chip Ganassi Racing, and plenty more.

The GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1 Pickup continued to inspire a multitude of fans. It motivated five of the most creative cultural influencers to pay tribute to different aspects of the supertruck in five highly stylized films—the GMC HUMMER EV “Malibu Series.” The supertruck also starred in “Like Nothing Else GMC HUMMER EV Supertruck Experience,” an immersive 3D experience  that allowed users to interact with the state-of-the-art pickup. It premiered at an event on LA’s famed Melrose Avenue, hosted by streetwear maestro and influencer Don C.

The second season of the Extreme E all-electric global racing series pitted No. 99 GMC HUMMER EV.R Chip Ganassi Racing against the world’s fiercest off-road beasts. The Island X Prix in Sardinia, Italy, was the scene of its first victory. Inspired by GMC HUMMER EV, No. 99 overcame an unforgiving course and world-class competition to give drivers Sara Price and Kyle LeDuc what will be their first of many victories.

In a little over 2 years, a dedicated team of visionaries went from a dream to a reality to a revolution. In the process, they changed the automotive world forever. The Supertruck Testing Series continued with a return visit to the unforgiving, off-roading mecca of Moab, Utah. The GMC HUMMER EV SUV traversed unforgiving trails, crawled over boulders and scaled steep inclines. And as if doing it all during the day wasn’t enough, nighttime conquering proved that for the SUV, the best time to conquer is—anytime.

First, the revolutionary all-electric GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1 Pickup inspired the equally revolutionary all-electric Super Air Nautique towboat—making it the ideal seafaring companion for the supertruck. And recently, the Electric Bike powered by RECON brought the supertruck philosophy to two wheels.

The second all-revolutionary, all-electric supertruck—the GMC HUMMER EV SUV—is expected to start rolling out of Factory Zero and onto reservers’ driveways in early 2023. Combining the features of the pickup with the versatility of an SUV, helps it earns its own supertruck status.
