GMC LIFE

EMBRACING THE ADVENTURE.

GMC EVs TAKE CHARGE IN VAIL.

PHOTOGRAPHY BY TOSHI OKU

From exhilarating horsepower to commanding off-road capabilities and strong towing abilities, GMC’s trio of all-electric trucks — GMC HUMMER EV Pickup,* GMC HUMMER EV SUV* and Sierra EV Denali* — are built and designed to take you on epic adventures. Whether you’re driving up to one of the resorts in Vail or traversing the rugged Colorado landscape, there are no compromises on the horizon.

SIERRA EV DENALI EDITION 1

The newest member of the EV family is the Sierra EV Denali. The Denali Edition 1 shown here offers the GMC-exclusive CrabWalk* Mode, MultiPro MidGate™ and 10,000 lbs. max. Towing.* “The Sierra EV Denali was designed to be a truck first,” says Chief Engineer Kathy Gillespie. “This truck has all the performance you expect from a Sierra, along with strong towing and payload capability. At the same time, it rides well as a daily driver and on road trips.”

Along with a GM-estimated 754 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque in Max Power Mode, the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 offers a GM-estimated 440 miles of range* and is 800 Volt DC Public Fast Charging – capable at up to 350kW, enabling up to 100 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes.* “When you set out on a road trip, the system can even help plan your route, including charge stops,” Gillespie adds.

The Sierra EV Denali offers 1,450 lbs. of max. payload,* and the MultiPro MidGate adds to the cargo-carrying capability by providing a maximum load floor length of 10' 10"* with the MidGate down and the MultiPro Tailgate’s load-stop open. “With the MidGate, the bed can be expanded to carry long items like lumber or your paddleboard. You can fold down one side with the glass still in place or fold the entire section down for an open-air experience,” Gillespie comments.

GREAT MANEUVERABILITY

The 4-Wheel Steer capability not only enables CrabWalk, but also allows all four wheels to work together to provide a smaller turning circle. 4-Wheel Steer — available on all three GMC EVs — enables CrabWalk. At low speeds, CrabWalk turns the rear wheels in the same direction as the front wheels, allowing diagonal movement of the vehicle. “Try parking it and turning around with a tight turn to see how it drives. Try out Super Cruise®* and all the technology features offered,” Gillespie says. Available Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology allows you to enjoy miles of compatible roads.

GMC HUMMER EV PICKUP

The bold and capable GMC HUMMER EV Pickup started the GMC EV revolution. Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser is one of the team members who helped develop the amazing pickup and followed that up with the equally impressive SUV. “The GMC HUMMER EV Pickup had one mission from its inception — take away any reason why someone would not consider an electric off-road Supertruck,” he says. Mission accomplished.

“When customers learn that we can harness 1,000 hp* and 11,500 lb-ft of torque* in an off-road truck with 13" of wheel travel, nearly a 50-degree approach* angle, and features such as CrabWalk, Extract Mode* and Watts to Freedom,* they almost forget that they are driving an electric truck,” Oppenheiser says. “That is, until they are enjoying their favorite trail in near silence with the Infinity Roof panels out.”

The Infinity Roof’s four modular sky panels and front I-bar are removable to create an open-air experience.

To get over or out of a tough spot, initiate Extract Mode to help surmount obstacles. For a different type of thrill, engage the available Watts to Freedom and unleash the HUMMER EV Pickup’s astounding acceleration: available 0–60 mph in approximately 3 seconds* for a properly equipped pickup.

Like Gillespie, Oppenheiser encourages people to get behind the wheel and experience the GMC EVs. “I think one of the best things about the GMC HUMMER EVs is the rear-steering capability, which provides 10 degrees of rear steer to help offer a turning circle similar to a much smaller vehicle,”* he says. “Drive the GMC HUMMER EVs to see how this feature makes them drive smaller. It is a game-changer.”

The EV 3X Pickup offers up to a GM-estimated 381-mile* driving range with the available 24-module battery pack and when equipped with 22" wheels and 35" all-terrain tires. When equipped with the Extreme Off-Road Package, the range is a GM-estimated 359 miles.*

Available UltraVision* offers up to 18 camera views, including waterproof under-body cameras. In addition, the available Super Cruise driver-assistance technology enables hands-free driving and automatic lane changing on compatible roads.

GMC HUMMER EV SUV

If you crave the open road or trail, but need the security and protection of enclosed space, the GMC HUMMER EV SUV was designed with you in mind, offering many of the same features — CrabWalk, Extract Mode and Watts to Freedom, for example — as its pickup counterpart.

At the same time, the SUV offers its own unique benefits. “The SUV is arguably the more nimble of the two GMC HUMMER EVs,” Oppenheiser says. It has a shorter wheelbase than the HUMMER EV Pickup and a higher departure angle, which could make it even more desirable for off-road enthusiasts. And with nearly 82 cu. ft. [81.80 cu. ft.*] of cargo space when the rear seats are folded down, it provides plenty of secured storage for those who prefer this versus a truck bed, he adds. When you include the front eTrunk™ — with up to 11.3 cu. ft.* of storage — the GMC HUMMER EV SUV offers more than 93 cu. ft. of protected space.

To move passengers and cargo alike, the GMC HUMMER EV SUV offers an available 830 hp and 11,500 lb-ft of torque (based on GM estimates) and an EPA-estimated 314 miles of range.* When equipped with the Extreme Off-Road Package, the range is an EPA-estimated 298 miles.*

As with the other GMC EVs, Oppenheiser urges drivers to get behind the wheel of the SUV to experience all the incredible capabilities and appreciate how the purposeful technology helps make this vehicle enjoyable to drive. “Drive the HUMMER EV SUV in low-speed maneuvers to see how surprisingly nimble the vehicle is, which makes the SUV experience in the GMC HUMMER EV game-changing,” Oppenheiser says.

GOING EXTREME

Both of the GMC HUMMER EVs shown above include the available Extreme Off-Road Package:

  • Front and rear driver-selectable electronically locking differentials
  • Full underbody skid plates
  • 18" wheels with 35" mud-terrain tires
  • Front- and rear-facing UltraVision* underbody cameras
  • Rocker protectors with assist steps
  • Black rear D-ring recovery hooks*
