FOLLOW US

AT4 heavy duty off-road truck is the pioneer of premium off-roading, inspired by those who seek to blaze new trails and live a life without limits. AT4X takes the spirit of AT4 to even higher peaks, delivering extreme off-road capability without compromise.

GMC is building on the AT4 legacy with the first ever Sierra HD AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition, the two new off-roading beasts coming to the 2024 Sierra Heavy Duty lineup. The Sierra HD AT4X is a balanced execution that delivers serious off-road capability straight from the factory while still providing the on-road comfort, innovative tech and pulling power you expect from a GMC Sierra Heavy Duty.

RUGGED OFF-ROAD CAPABILITY

The Sierra HD AT4X is prepared for the adversities of the trail with a factory-installed 1.5" suspension lift, a ground clearance of 11.6 inches, an approach angle of 31.6 degrees and a 25.7-degree departure angle. The Sierra AT4X is also outfitted with 35" Goodyear® Territory MT Tires and a rear e-locking differential which assures both wheels will spin together regardless of the amount of resistance to help keep traction in the rough backcountry.

For added control and comfort on the trail, the Sierra HD AT4X’s underbody is equipped with Multimatic™ DSSV dampers that deliver performance in nearly all operating conditions, creating comfort on-road and robust performance during off-road adventures.

TURBOCHARGED POWER

The Sierra Heavy Duty’s world-class towing capability is enhanced for 2024 with an available all-new, more efficient turbocharger that increases power and torque over the entire operating system, including a 25% boost in low-end torque over the previous model year. The GMC Sierra HD AT4X boasts the impressive available 6.6L V8 Duramax Turbo-Diesel paired with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission that delivers 975 lb.-ft of torque (at 1,600 rpm), 470 horsepower (at 2,800 rpm).

The available 6.6L Duramax Tubo-Diesel also offers enhanced exhaust brake performance for improved control when towing and improved engine braking with a more powerful turbo vane actuator and uprated valve springs.

CONFIDENT TOWING

The Sierra Heavy Duty off-road work truck is engineered for towing, and thanks to the enhanced available 6.6L V8 Turbo-Diesel, the Sierra HD AT4X has an available max towing capacity of up to 18,500 lbs. (18,400 lbs. for AT4X AEV Edition). Additionally, the 2024 Sierra Heavy Duty offers the most trailering-assistance technologies in its class, including up to 14 available camera views.

The available ProGrade Trailering System is a suite of intelligent trailering assistant technologies designed to streamline the hitching and towing process and help provide a sense of confidence when trailering. To learn about the 2024 Sierra HD’s trailering technologies, click here.

Some of the available trailering technologies have also been enhanced for the 2024 model year including transparent trailer view, now enabling compatibility with fifth-wheel and gooseneck trailers, and enhanced Adaptive Cruise Control, which will now account for additional drag and increased braking distance when pulling a trailer.

The 2024 Sierra Heavy Duty will also now come standard with a new GCW (Gross Combined Weight) alert, which will alert the driver if the vehicle’s capabilities have been exceeded.

SUPREME INTERIOR

Tackle the toughest terrains in comfort and style. The Sierra HD AT4X comes with the Obsidian Rush interior, an athletic yet refined interior unique to the AT4X trim.

This interior is donned with full-grain leather seating with red and white double-needle stitching, authentic Vanta Ash wood accents, a premium leather-trimmed instrument panel, a premium microsuede headliner and etched stainless steel speaker grills.

The Obsidian Rush interior doesn’t just look luxurious, it provides a first-class experience with 16-way power front seats with a massage feature and a 12-speaker Bose®† Premium Series with CenterPoint® Surround Sound.

FIRST EVER SIERRA HD AEV EDITION

GMC collaborated with AEV and is introducing the first ever Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition, taking the Sierra HD AT4X’s off-road capabilities to higher peaks thanks to a host of key AEV off-roading enhancements geared for those who are looking to blaze new trails.

ABOUT AEV

American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) is a world-renowned premier supplier of quality aftermarket parts and accessories for vehicles geared toward recreational driving and overland adventuring.

Founded in 1997, AEV was formed when founder and President Dave Harriton started modifying vehicles in a one-room garage with a dirt floor in Missoula, Montana. As time passed, Dave began getting recognized for his work — and he found partners in Detroit who could bring OE-quality engineering and manufacturing expertise to his innovative designs.

Today, AEV has built a brand with a stellar reputation in the off-roading and overlanding communities worldwide. AEV products are of high quality and built with advanced and innovative engineering and manufacturing processes. Their goal is not just to customize a vehicle, but to improve the vehicle’s look, functionality and drivability on highways and trails.

INTEGRATED AEV HARDWARE

The Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition is equipped to take on the gnarliest terrains with a ground clearance of 11.8 inches, an approach angle of 29.8 degrees and a departure angle of 25.7 degrees.

The underbody of this truck is rigged with stamped-steel skid plates that offer protection from rocks and debris on the trail.

Made of heavy-duty, stamped-steel, powder-coated bumpers are outfitted to the front and rear of the truck, providing incredible durability and corrosion resistance. These bumpers offer heavy-duty cast integrated recovery points and available front winch capability.

AEV-INSPIRED BRANDING

The Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition will turn heads on the trail and highway with exclusive AEV branding throughout the vehicle's interior and exterior.

Inside the truck, the interior is accented with AEV embroidered branding on the front headrests and AEV-branded all-weather floor liners. The exterior features AEV badging, AEV racing-inspired 18" Salta wheels with a 16-spoke design, and black accents on the door handles and tailgate.

YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE IS ON THE HORIZON

When life takes you off the beaten path, you need a truck that’s as adventurous as you are. The Sierra HD AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition push the envelope for heavy-duty trucks and strengthens GMC’s commitment to premium off-roading.

The Sierra HD AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition will be available Fall 2023.
